Algerian Energy, Mining Minister Visits Malongo Oil Compound

 

Luanda, 11/25 - Algeria`s Minister of Energy and Mining, Chakib Khelil, left Luanda today bound for Angola`s northern Cabinda province, for a few-hour visit to Malongo Oil Compound.

The North-African country`s Minister is in Angola since Wednesday, in a three-day official visit, aiming at strengthening the existing bilateral co-operation.

Today, Mr Khelil was received by the Angolan Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, to whom he handed over a friendship message from President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

On the first day of his stay in Angola, the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mining had a meeting with the incumbent Minister of Oil, Desidério Costa.

From this meeting resulted that the co-operation between both African States in oil trade and the training of oil staff will be more intense as from next year, fruit of the intention of both countries to improve the relations in this area.

On Wednesday, after his arrival in Luanda, the North-African country`s official affirmed that Angola and his country share the same objectives in the stabilisation of the international oil market.

Algeria is a member country of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) while Angola is an observer member.
